Artistic Statement:

I began my artisitic journey in 2000, and chose watercolour as my first medium to try.  Since that time, I have begun to paint with acrylics, alcohol inks, coloured pencils, and most recently pastels, and  find them equally as rewarding.

I am mostly a realistic landscape painter, and enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the 3 dimensional world that God has graced us with, and portray it onto a 2 dimensional surface.

My goal is not to paint a pretty picture, but to draw the viewer into the painting to evoke a memory or an emotion within them.  I want them to feel "at home" with my paintings.

With the use of colour, value, texture, and the other elements and principles of design, I strive to get my  paintings to glow and draw my viewer in.

I find that the more I discover and learn about these mediums, the more there is to know.  I realize that I will never know everything, but I plan to enjoy the journey of trying to find out.
